Standing for Peace & Human Rights — A Message from UNA Davis

Dear UNA Davis Members and Friends,

As global conflicts continue to bring devastating harm to innocent civilians, the need to speak out and act in support of peace, justice, and human rights has never been more urgent. Our chapter is committed to amplifying the values of the United Nations and standing in solidarity with people affected by violence, displacement, and humanitarian crisis—wherever they may be.

We are proud to share this message from our UNA Davis Board, written by Advocacy Chair Lynn Dykstra, in honor of the UN Charter’s 80th anniversary:

Contact Your Elected Representatives

We encourage you to take action by contacting Congressman Mike Thompson, Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff. Urge them to support:

  • Ongoing ceasefire and de-escalation efforts

  • Protection of civilians and humanitarian corridors

  • Restoration of full UN and USAID funding

Every call and message contributes to a growing call for diplomacy and restraint:
